High Resolution Infrared Thermal Imaging…

What is a HIGH RESOLUTION INFRARED THERMAL IMAGING camera? HIGH RESOLUTION – The highest pixel count (680×480) provides more information and clearer images than a lower resolution (80 x80). INFRARED (IR) is a different part of the electromagnetic spectrum of light than our eyes see. Infrared is just below visible light that our eyes see. Ultraviolet light, on the other hand, is the spectrum just above our perception. All surfaces emit and reflect infrared waves through the air. These waves travel through the lens of the camera which focuses them onto a sensory array called a microbolometer. The wave strength is measured by the sensory array and converted by a signal processor to a visible light value. Grayscale signals from all the pixels are converted to a TV signal forming a composite image. THERMAL IMAGING – the IR camera shows us surface radiation or temperature patterns. It does not see inside walls, that would be an x-ray. We are usually looking at the affects or images of evaporative water cooling like when drywall is wet and conductive thermal transfer like when insulation is missing. With our knowledge of building characteristics, construction materials and thermal transfer, we interpret these temperature patterns to produce a building performance diagnostic inspection report. The camera makes for a faster, more accurate damage assessment.

Things that inhibit or obscure this process are items with a low emissivity, products like shiny wallpaper, cove molding, glass, metal and tile which reflect like a mirror. When conditions are right, finding moisture intrusion is like shooting fish in a barrel. The best times for camera use are when temperatures are changing rapidly or things are in a steady state like the missing insulation in the middle of the afternoon or the water intrusion came from the rain the night before or when exterior ambient temperature is extreme and our HVAC system is operating just the opposite, it makes it easier to see heat loss/gain around windows and doors. First thing in the morning as the sun rises and warms the surface of walls/windows or later in the afternoon when the sun goes down and surfaces start to cool are great times to find things more subtle or in a transient state. The larger the thermal mass the slower the temperature change compared to other materials around it. Solid concrete downpours are very easy to see in a block wall.

Night vision goggles and video cameras with nightshot are not the same. Night vision simply amplifies a small amount of light. Infrared wavelengths we are concerned with do not pass through glass and those products do not have the processors to convert IR to visible light images.

What else is it good for you ask? It is excellent for identifying HVAC leaks or insulation issues inside and outside the home. We can also see each solid concrete downpours. Moisture intrusion detection however, is our main focus. For flat roofs, moisture entrapment can be isolated for repairs. In an EIFS home, moisture intrusion around building envelope penetrations. We have even found a sub slab plumbing leak and many window and roof leaks. We have even located multiple upstairs shower pan leaks from underneath! Often times we find more than we bargained for. One particular house we were called on to find the source of A leak. We found seven! Five of them were unrelated to the issue that generated the call! THIS IS THE FUTURE OF BUILDING INSPECTIONS.

You can create your your own online photo album as well as uploading your pictures to your computer easily. Initially what you have to do is to start shooting with your digital camera. You may capture various memorable occasions such as your graduation party or a friend’s birthday party or your childs special moments First, you want to take plenty of photos with your digital camera. Likewise, these can be photos of different events, such as a wedding anniversary, or a graduation party or a child’s first or twenty first birthday party.

Irrespective of the occasion, you need to ensure that some nice images have been captured and ready to upload to your computer. After selecting which ones have to be archived or uploaded you need to select the exact theme and color schemes representing your memorable moments. After deciding which photos to be uploaded, then you have to upload and transfer them to the computer. These photos stored in the computer will be kept temporarily.

1.Connect Digital Camera to Computer

Firstly connect digital camera to your computer via USB port of your computer. Alternatively, remove the camera memory card from your camera and insert it into the card reader of the computer and plug it into a card reader on your computer. Not both methods will help you to transfer images from your digital camera to the computer. The operating system in the computer will automatically identify the connection of your digital camera and will ask next where to copy the images. Then select the icon for scanner or camera wizard or copy pictures to the computer in a folder. Now continue to the next step of the upload.

2.Select Photos to Upload

When you see all your digital photos on the computer, select the ones you really want to upload to your online photo album. Then create a folder and give a suitable name. Please note photo images need substantial storage space, its better to check your hard disc storage availability before uploading. Alternatively, you can copy your images to a CD for future use. You need to know that during uploading photos, they can be automatically erased from the digital camera. You will then see all of the images you selected on the computer. The unselected images can be stored in the free online storage available in most of the photo sharing sites. You may not upload all of the ones that you selected. This way you not only save memory space in you computer but also preserve these photos for future reference.

Now you can share your excellent images that are uploaded with your friends and loved ones and enjoy their nice comments.

Images are often used for instructing, illustrating, identifying, providing variation, authority, and information as a supplement to text and sound. In addition, images are used for content that is important, difficult to understand, and new to the readers. The effectiveness of any visual depends on the medium, on the type of information, and on the amount of time subjects are allowed to interact with the material. Images can also be affective and provide participants with entertainment, and underline an experience both positive and negative.

Subliminal images or images below the threshold of human perception can trigger subconscious associations and influence emotions and attitudes, especially in movies and television. Subliminal images can be used to persuade, compliment, tease, disgrace, scare, and even seduce the audience. In advertising especially, images may carry subliminal messages. Advertisements for liquor or cigarettes, for instance, sometimes use sex symbols. Images can be compensatory, making it easier for poor viewers to understand, learn, and remember things they read in text.

Proponents of subliminal vision claim it is capable of scanning ongoing structures and gathering more data than an alert examination lasting thousand times longer. With impartial sharpness our unconscious vision registers minute details irrespective of whether they belong to the figure or to the background. But it usually tends to retract the conscious preference for the shape and pays more attention to textural and backdrop elements.

Although solid research evidence suggests that our attitudes may be susceptible to subliminal visual information, those same research findings make clear the limits on such influence. Firstly, in laboratory studies of subliminal image effects, experimenters have to work hard to ensure that subjects focus closely on the region in which subliminal stimuli are presented. In the usual confusion of everyday environments, such dedicated focusing is unlikely, and so the messages probably would not receive even minimal processing.

Amateur photography has always been a popular hobby, but the development of the easy-to-use digital camera has helped this pastime become bigger than ever. Millions of people own digital cameras and a high percentage of them also use photo editing software and picture sharing websites. Some of the advanced editing capabilities included with these products were once reserved only for those enthusiasts with deep pockets. But now anyone who takes the time to study can produce professional quality images on their home computer. This reality has opened a new market for amateurs who are looking to earn money by doing what they love.

Savvy photographers are starting to notice the high demand across the internet for digital photographs. Webmasters, small businesses, and even professional agencies are turning to amateur photographers to fill their needs for rates that are much cheaper than professional outfits. By identifying the key markets and learning a few tricks of the trade, almost anyone can build an additional revenue stream with their digital camera. The key is to know what the customer wants.

Stock photographs are one of the hottest markets for selling pictures. Webmasters in particular are always looking for quality stock photos to accent their websites. This niche is not only growing rapidly, but it offers the opportunity to resell the same picture hundreds of times over. The key to selling stock images is to focus on a topic and saturate it with hundreds of images. Nature pictures and business images are some of the best-sellers, but keep in mind that you never know what shot will catch your customer’s eye. Thus, you should shoot many different angles and poses to provide an adequate variety to choose from. Make sure all of your images are crystal clear and free from background distractions.

Those people who have a passion for digital image editing will also find their skills in high demand. In this case, customers are looking for a particular effect transposed on their images. Orders like these can come from word-of-mouth, or by posting your services on a classified website or freelance photography database. Unlike stock photos, edited images are generally only good for one sale, but in some cases they can be reused in other applications. Most people who sell digital editing services begin by selling stock photos. This is where they build their client base before moving on to special orders.

Because there appears to be no slowdown in the demand for digital images, the time is right for anyone to start making extra money from their photography hobby. The only necessities for starting your own operation are access to a decent digital camera, computer, and editing software. From there it is just a matter of building your inventory.

Begin by taking pictures of the subjects that interest you. Think of everything in terms of what the picture could be used for. Analyze the photos used on websites or magazine ads and try to replicate their quality. Slowly but surely you build a nice collection of images that you can market online. As the number of pictures you post increase, so will the potential for sales. Eventually, you will have built a nice business selling your digital photographs.

With the introduction of a new breed of low cost thermal imaging cameras, thermal imaging technology is now an effective problem solving, analysis and preventive maintenance tool for a variety of applications. Thermal imaging cameras are light weight, ergonomic, intuitive and contain high resolution thermal detectors that offer valuable temperature information to isolate problems. This article offers an explanation of the technology and the applications for which it is well suited.

Thermal Imaging Cameras function much like digital photographic cameras except they take a thermal picture. The detectors measure infrared radiation which is then converted to electrical signals in order to create a visual representation of the heat an object gives off. The visual representation displays cooler items in shades of blue and hotter items in shades of red and can be analyzed and formatted on a computer via a USB download. When deciding on a thermal imaging camera, the primary features to consider include the resolution, accuracy and temperature range. The resolution is measured by pixels. Because every pixel on the screen is a discrete temperature reading, the more pixels the camera has, the more detail the thermal picture will be. Accuracy is measured in terms of a percentage of the value of the reading. Most cameras have accuracy’s between 2-5%. Finally, thermal cameras are limited to a specified temperature range. If your application deals with extreme heat or cold, you should make sure the camera is capable of taking those measurements.

While the general specifications from one camera to the next are similar, high-end cameras typically offer additional features you may find useful. Many cameras offer photographic overlays of the thermal picture. This is ideal for identification of detailed components and their proximity to each other in the thermal picture. Cameras intended for the building inspection and HVAC industries offer dew point and insulation alarms useful in locating areas of moisture or insufficient insulation. Some cameras even offer voice annotation to document and flashlights to illuminate dark areas.

There are numerous applications for thermal imaging cameras that, prior to the introduction of low-cost offerings, were previously cost inhibitive. The heat signature of electrical circuits and machine components may precipitate future problems and failures. HVAC systems and building structures display obvious thermal visualizations of inefficiencies, insufficient insulation, moisture and loose duct fittings. Pest Control professionals can identify infestations inside of walls or enclosed areas as a result of nesting areas displaying higher temperatures than surrounding areas. Plumbing professionals locate blockages in pipes and law enforcement agencies are aided in finding hidden suspects. Even paranormal investigators find thermal imaging cameras an aide in their discovery.

Thermal imaging cameras cost as little as $3,000 from manufacturers such as Extech, FLIR and Fluke, making them an economical analysis and diagnostic tool for a number of professions. Many people probably do not consider thermography as a viable preventative maintenance or diagnostic solution based on preconceived notions of price or a lack of knowledge on thermographic applications. However, those who have invested in the technology have found a way to differentiate their business from competition and reduce the overhead associated with “old-school” methods.

Fluke Ti10 Thermal Imager ? Infrared IR Imaging Camera

The perfect tool for troubleshooting and maintenance.

This thermal imager is built for tough work environments. Its high-performance, fully radiometric infrared camera is ideal for troubleshooting electrical installations, HVAC/R equipment, process equipment, electro-mechanical equipment, and others.

Thermo-graphic imaging cameras detect radiation in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum (900?14,000 nanometers or 0.9?14 µm) and from that radiation produce images. According to the black body radiation law, objects above 0 Kelvin radiate infrared radiation. With the Fluke Ti 10 it is possible to see one?s environment with or without visible illumination. Radiation emitted by an object increases with temperature. The Fluke Ti 10 allows one to see variations in those temperatures. When viewed through a thermal imager, warm objects will stand out well against cooler backgrounds. Humans as well as animals stand out extremely well against their environment. This is why the basis of thermal imaging originates from security and military applications

All Fluke thermal imaging cameras come standard with Fluke?s revolutionary IR Fusion®. Fluke?s IR-Fusion® Technology allows you to see things both ways, in infrared and visible light fused together, communicating critical information faster and easier. Traditional infrared images are no longer enough. IR-Fusion technology simultaneously captures a digital photo in addition to the infrared image and fuses it together taking the mystery out of IR image analysis. Simply scroll through the 5 viewing modes to identify trouble areas in full infrared light, full visual light, picture-in-picture, or automatic blend visual and thermal images.

The ultimate tool for troubleshooting and maintenance. This thermal imager is built for extremely tough work environments. Its fully radiometric, high-performance infrared camera is designed for troubleshooting HVAC/R equipment, electro-mechanical equipment, electrical installations, process equipment, and more. Thermo-graphic imaging cameras detect radiation in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum (900–14,000 nanometers or 0.9–14 µm) and from that radiation produce images. According to the black body radiation law, objects above 0 Kelvin radiate infrared radiation. With the Fluke Ti 25 it is possible to see one’s environment with or without visible illumination. Radiation emitted by an object increases with temperature. The Fluke Ti 25 allows one to see variations in those temperatures. When viewed through a thermal imager, warm objects will stand out well against cooler backgrounds. Humans as well as animals stand out extremely well against their environment. This is why the basis of thermal imaging originates from security and military applications. All Fluke thermal imaging cameras come standard with Fluke’s revolutionary IR Fusion®. Fluke’s IR-Fusion® Technology allows you to see things both ways, in visible light and infrared fused together, thereby communicating critical information faster and easier. The Fluke Ti25 is engineered and tested to withstand a 2 m (6.5 ft) drop, dust and water, and includes an IP54 rating. The 3.6 in diagonal landscape color LCD screen, with backlight, delivers the clear, crisp images at 160×120 pixels, a big help when needing to find problems fast.
For A Balanced Lifestyle

“Everyone of us acts, feels, and behaves in a way that is consistent with our self-image; regardless of the reality of that image.”

It is very important to understand this sentence. Don’t get trapped behind the image of low esteem, guilt, fear, lack of confidence. These negative images have a habit on slowly sneaking up on us. It is our self-image that sets the limits of our accomplishments. Self- image sets our inner compass to the size of our goals we set out to accomplish. This inner compass also determines whether or not we are going to succeed or fail. The power lies in each and every one of us that we are all capable of taking control of reprogramming our self-image.lifestyle

Take an inventory of your perceived self-image:

- understand the negative view you have

- ask yourself if it is really true

- why do you think you have this negative view

- are these negative views holding you back from success

- identify and confront these negative thoughts

- use these negative views to set goals for correction

- build feelings of success

- use your imagination to create images of your success

- imagine how this success would change your life

Dream of what it would be like to be successful in your business, personal, family or social life. What would a new car, home, vacation or career feel like. The subconscious mind can’t tell the difference between a real experience and one that is vividly imagined. Find a comfortable area in your home to relax and just dream for 20 minutes. You can, by doing this exercise every day, create images of success that can be turned into actual realizations.

All our actions, behaviors and feelings are a direct result of images we have placed into our subconscious mind. Now if our image of ourselves is negative, what images have we been feeding our subconscious? So why do we find it so difficult to feed our subconscious positive images? We have created a bad habit of feeding our mind negative images, and over time they have been recorded into our subconscious as what we like. We all know we can change bad habits with desire and perseverance. So now we know we can change these actions, feelings, and behaviors by changing our mental pictures. No excuses! How bad to you want that new career, business, car, home, vacation, relationship, etc.

My name is Aaron Marino, founder and senior consultant of Alpha M Image Consulting. Alpha M is the premier image consulting firm that specializes exclusively on executing image strategies for men. In a nut shell, I make men look fantastic.

Image consultants are experts in analyzing a persons current image (style, grooming, wardrobe, mannerisms) and identify aspects that can be changed or modified in order to help the client present the best self he can. We help match how you would like to be viewed by others with the way you actually are received. Most of the time the two are not matching.

For my clients I analyze everything from their current wardrobe to their hair style and even things as commonly overlooked as their smell (overpowering colognes and fragrances can be as offensive as bad breath or body odor. We then make the necessary modification to elevate their image or style to the next level. I want all of my clients to look better then all of their friends. I help them attract or keep the women of their dreams. This is what I help men do.

Men are most concerned about dressing to impress. Unfortunately, the amount of money one spends on their clothes does not necessarily equate to image or style success. Men are more concerned about the labels they are wearing, as opposed to if their clothes actually fit properly or make them look amazing. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars in order to look like you did.

These days men are coming around as far as image is concerned. In today’s ultra competitive market (both professionally as well as personally); men need every and any advantage over the competition. Finally we as men are realizing that “casual Friday” just isn’t getting it done.

By taking the little bit of time and energy it takes every day to make sure you are presenting the best self you can as you leave your house to face the world, will have a dramatic impact on your personal and professional success. Understanding that people form opinions of you in the first 10 seconds of meeting you. These impressions are subconsciously formed by all of your non verbal communication. This communication is things such as: grooming, style, wardrobe, handshake, posture, scent, breath….the list goes on. By paying attention to all of these aspects of your image will undoubtedly improve you chances of getting the girl or making the sale. Why you may ask? Because your competition is not. So if you are not interested in making more money or having more sex, then forget it. Proceed as normal.

The Out the door check list: Top 5

Do your clothes fit? Are you wearing clothes that are too big or too small? Wearing ill fitting clothes sends a message…the wrong message. The goal is to look as tall and proportioned as possible. Clothes that don’t fit properly can give the illusion of you being shorter, fatter, thinner, and less muscular then you may actually be.
Make sure your shoes are polished and clean. People notice your shoes. You may be wearing a fantastic outfit but if your shoes are a hot mess, it kills your whole look. There is no substitute for good shoes.
Shoes and belts should match. Belts and shoes should match both in color and leather texture ie: shiny black shoes = shiny black belt. Black is easy, brown takes a bit more effort. There are 20 shades of brown. When buying a new brown belt, wear the brown shoes into the store and match. Never try to do it from memory, it never works….trust me.
Nose hair and ear hair are trimmed. Just because you can’t see it when you look in the mirror, doesn’t mean it is not there. No one wants to see crazy nose or ear hair. Manage your over growth.
Take a look at yourself in a full length mirror. The last thing you should do before you go out and face the world is to take a look at yourself in a full length mirror. Start at your feet and look up. Are all of the pieces saying what you want them to say about you? Look at the items individually and as a package. Think of your image as your personal packaging. If you like what you see in the mirror and pay attention to details…go gettem tiger.

Remember guys, style is subjective; the rules of men’s fashion and style are becoming more blurred. There used to be more hard and fast rules, but lucky for you these rules are changing.

1. In my opinion unless you are wearing suspenders, you should ALWAYS wear a belt with your suit. But never wear a belt with a Tux.

2. I feel that your collar points should always be tucked in. Unless you are going for that whole “I’m a playboy and I’m supper hip” look, you just look sloppy. Keep it classic and elegant.

3. Pocket squares or handkerchiefs are coming back in a big way. With or without a tie, a pocket square is a fantastic way to jazz up any suit or sport coat. This subtle detail tells the world you are here and you are a man among men.

4. If you are wearing an undershirt, let’s figure out why you are wearing it and this will help us determine how and if you should wear one. Are you wearing an undershirt to absorb sweat? If that is the case, wear a V-neck so it is less obvious that you are wearing an undershirt. Are you worried about your nipples showing? If this is the problem, then just wear a white tank top. If you are wearing an undershirt and neither sweat or nipples are not your concern, then take it off, you don’t need it. If you do indeed wear an undershirt, you may want to buy shirts that are of heavier fabric and don’t let your undershirt show through.

5. It is never acceptable to wear a dinner jacket to a black tie event. When in doubt….overdress.

6. Wearing white is a great look if you are at: horse race, in the Hampton’s, on a cruise, at the beach, a polo match and possibly golfing. If none of the above applies, stay away from the all white look. This look is a good way to point out how stained and discolored your teeth are. So unless you are sporting a great set of pearly whites, you may want to avoid white. Or go get your teeth bleached.

7. If you are a guy and have a big thick patch of chest hair, my suggestion is to start “manscaping”. Use a bear trimmer and tone it down a bit. Don’t shave it off, but manage it. Use the trimmer with a ¾ inch guard on it and go to work. This will prevent you from looking like you are smuggling a cat under your shirt. Think subtle in terms of the amount of hair you are showing. Ladies love chest hair, just not too much.

8. 5 shoes every man should own: Black lace up cap toe- Think formal and classic. Wear it with suits or slacks, to the office or to the ball. Pair of Fashion Sneakers- Wear them with jeans or shorts, around town or on the weekend. Driving Moccasins- Casual yet stylish. Wear them with Jeans, Khakis or even shorts. Go to dinner or just running around town. Simple Black or Brown Loafer with elongated toe box- This shoe can be worn with a suit or with jeans and a blazer. You can dress them up or down. Not having the laces will allow your pant leg to fall effortless over your shoes, creating a nice break in your pants and prevents bunching. Athletic Sneakers- To the gym or outdoor fitness only…..only!

9. Cowboy Boots, to wear or not to wear? If you are going line dancing, live in Texas, are a country singer, going to a dude ranch or are actually a cowboy…wear them. If you don’t fall into one of those categories, be careful and think before you wear. But yes, I have seen men wearing them around town that did look good in them. These men are few and far between.

10. There is nothing more painful to look at when a guy who is trying too hard to be young and hip. It is absolutely possible to be stylish and fashionable and at the same time age appropriate. When you are shopping in a store, if all of the sales associates are young enough to be your kids or grand kids, chances are that you shouldn’t be shopping there…too young and you will look ridiculous.

George Clooney: Timeless and Classic. Secret worth stealing: Mono Chromatic outfits look fantastic, stylish, elegant and even slimming.

Patrick Dempsey: Clothes Fit Perfectly. Always wearing tailored clothes enhance your body and image.

David Beckham: Fashion Forward. Taking calculated style risks are always a good idea. Step out of your comfort zone once in a while.

Tom Cruise: Understands the Psychology of Clothes. Never see him wearing pleated or cuffed pants. Short men look taller without pleats or cuffs on their pants.

Brad Pitt: Casual Cool. Even when dressing down, look put together and stylish. It takes a lot of work to look that lethargic.

alpha m. Image Consulting was launched back in 2006 by founder Aaron Marino. Aaron realized that there was a lack of resources and options for men to receive real world help and advice regarding their image, style and grooming. Our goal is to help you look and feel the best that you can…every day of your life. A Note from Aaron M: I would first like to thank you for visiting alpha m. I created this company and our services to help men realize their true potential. We accomplish this through confidence building, wardrobe management, grooming guidance, and style selections– all in an effort to help you achieve personal aesthetic excellence. Too often I see men not getting the women they want or the job the deserve because of a lack of knowledge regarding how they are presenting themselves to the outside world. Judgments are made about you in the first 10-seconds upon meeting someone. If you are not sure what you are communicating or how you are being received…we can help! Aaron Marino of alpha m. Image Consulting can be seen in a new VH1 show (Glam God with Vivica A. Fox) premiering on August 21st. Contestants compete in various challenges including hair, make-up and wardrobe, to become the next big celebrity stylist. The winner receives the opportunity to style an A-List celebrity and $100,000. Cast photos can be viewed at http://www.vh1.com/photos/gallery/?fid=1592079pid=3105593
